Hi! I’m Ryan.

I’m a hands-on creative director, art director, and designer with 15+ years developing original campaigns, visual identities, films, interactive experiences, and brand systems for Amazon Prime, Microsoft, Xbox, and Amazon Luna. I translate complex technology and abstract product ideas into simple, human stories - then carry those ideas from concept and visual direction through high-craft execution across film, digital, social, experiential, product, and global campaigns.

My work spans both sides of creative leadership: originating and making the work myself, and directing multidisciplinary teams, agencies, filmmakers, illustrators, designers, developers, and production partners to bring larger ideas to life.

“Ryan is an absolute powerhouse of a creative, and more importantly, an indispensable thinker.

Everything he touches ends up 200% better, and his boundless enthusiasm and determination are positively infectious. Ryan's commitment to excellence and team cohesion make him an outstanding creative leader, coworker, and a high-octane addition to any team.”

“Ryan is the ultimate, ego-free, team player.

He is an optimistic and energetic creative, a multi-skilled contributor, and a hard worker. He earns trust by listening to all parties, treating everyone respectfully, and working tirelessly to find, or literally build, a solution that works for all. He consistently delivers results, despite often rushed timelines and limited inputs.”

“Ryan Schmidt is a creative Swiss Army Knife.

He thinks big and is all over the details. He knows how to push a concept while staying on brand. He is a genius illustrator. He can take complicated strategy and land it in a single graphic. His presentations are a work of wonder. He shoots and edits video—interspersing compelling motion graphics along the way.

But most importantly, he spreads joy and can-do to every project he touches. And let me tell you, it’s mighty contagious. Clients trust him, project managers request him, his fellow creative want to hate him for his insane talent but he’s too loveable to hate.
